With incredible detail, the pair achieve a high level of design thanks to their background in fine arts and architecture (yavorskaya has a background in fine arts and kungurov has experience in architecture). in 2009, they decided to merge their talents and open their own artisanal bakery in moscow called tortik annushka.

Madina, who's academically trained in the fine arts, and Tortik, whose background is in architecture, opened the bakery in 2009. Since then, they have dedicated their time to perfecting a plethora of one-of-a-kind sweets, from delicately decorated sheet cakes to intricate, multi-tiered creations.

Whether more arts-oriented or more structural, each cake exhibits the Yavorskaya siblings' dedication to handcrafted, homemade desserts—as well as to each other.

Constant innovation is the name of their game, but producing one-of-a-kind cakes is no easy task. The combined expertise of this duo is quite evident in creating elegant, well-structured, intricate and multi-tiered cakes that are delicately decorated. The organic patterns and asymmetrical compositions of cakes with abstract adornments seem more like decoration pieces than traditional cakes.

Tortik Annushka’s fondant-wrapped desserts more closely resemble luxurious, edible artworks than the buttercream sheet cakes available from grocery bakeries. Based in Moscow, the confectionary designs lavish pastries that mimic a tub of ice cream, asymmetric sculptures, and famous paintings. Each pristinely shaped tier is made by hand entirely from scratch.
